Software developers, nothing more
In plain words: what we do, how we're paid, what we never do, and where SEBI's rules for algo trading come in.

What we are
StopLoss Labs is a software development firm. We write software to the rules our clients give us.
We are not a stock broker, investment adviser, research analyst or portfolio manager, and we are not registered with SEBI in any of those roles. We don't need to be for the work we do, and we don't present ourselves as if we were.
How we are paid
Only by fees for software work: a fixed price for each project, agreed before work starts, and an optional maintenance fee after handover. Our fee is the same whether your trading makes or loses money.
What we never do
- Give investment advice, tips, signals or stock recommendations
- Sell or recommend trading strategies, or suggest what to trade
- Take a share of your profits, or charge by results
- Hold, manage or move your money
- Log in to your trading account or place trades for you
- Promise or show returns, win rates or profits
Your account and your data
- The software runs on your own server, with your own broker API keys. You log in through your broker's official login page; we never see your password.
- We keep your strategy and rules confidential, and sign an NDA before you share them if you want one. We never reuse or share your rules.
- At handover you get the full source code and can run it without us.
Algo trading rules
Retail algorithmic trading in India runs under SEBI's framework, through your broker. Depending on how a bot is used, your broker may need to register it, and orders sent through the API must come from a static IP registered with the broker.
When we scope your project we'll tell you what we understand applies to it. That is general information, not legal advice. You remain responsible for using the software within SEBI's rules and your broker's terms.
